The 2022-2023 ACUCA Executive Committee holds its first regular meeting on February 16, 2022, via Zoom. Dr. Kwang-Sup Lee, President of Hannam University, Korea presided over the meeting as the new ACUCA President. During the meeting, the Executive Committee extended indefinitely the SMS and FMS grant to the student and faculty recipients who were not able to travel to their respective host institutions due to international border restrictions. Furthermore, the current Secretary-General, Dr. Kitai Kim, presented the proposed programs and activities for 2022-2023. Among the key events, this year is the student camp. Dr. Kim also presented his proposal of offering a Micro Degree Program to bonafide students of the member institutions. This proposed program received an overwhelmingly positive response from the members of the executive committee.
Present during the meeting were Professor Shigeyuki Atarashi and Professor Katsunobu Kihara who represented Prof. Tomoko Ueki of Doshisha University as the ACUCA’s Vice President; Rev. Hung Tse, who represented Prof. Alexander Wai, President of Hong Kong Baptist University as the ACUCA’s treasurer. All members of the ACUCA Board attended the meeting: Dr. Suluck Pattarathammas, President of the Christian University of Thailand; Prof. Ta-Chin Wie representing Chung Yuan Christian University (Taiwan) on behalf of Dr. In-Ming Lee; Dr. Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College (India) together with the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Priscilla A.S and the head of the International Study Center, Ms. Hannah Sophiah Samuel; Judge Benjamin Turgano, President of Wesleyan University (Philippines); and Dr. Agustinus Prasetyantoko, Rektor of Atma Jaya Catholic University (Indonesia) together with his Vice-Rector, Dr. Johanes Eko Adi Prasetyanto and the Director of the Internal Office, Mr. Adre Zaif Rachman and Ms. Angela Merici.
Also present during the meeting, were Ms. Glynnis Jean Casiño, the SMS-FMS Coordinator, and Ms. Yurim Jeong of the ACUCA ACUCA Secretariat. Dr. Betty Cernol McCann, the immediate past president, and Dr. Wilma Milo Tejero, the immediate past Secretary-General, were also invited to address short messages to the executive committee members.
