YPPH Breaks Ground on 16th SDH School in Karawang

As part of its long-standing commitment to provide international-standard Christian education in Indonesia and drive national education development, Pelita Harapan Educational Foundation (YPPH) on Friday (1/12) established new Sekolah Dian Harapan (SDH) school in Rolling Hills Lane, Karawang, West Java.

The K-12 school, to be built on 16,000 sqm plot of land, is expected to begin operating in July 2025 with a total full-phase capacity of up to 1,000 students. SDH group of schools now enrolls more than 13,000 students across Indonesia. As with its sister schools, SDH Karawang will be equipped with modern facilities such as basketball court, football field, library, smart classroom, collaborative learning space and more to stimulate student creativity and promote collaboration.

“SDH Karawang aims to bridge students to renowned universities at home and abroad. Through a holistic education, we are committed to unlock students’ full potential — academically, non-academically, and character-wise,” said YPPH executive director Stephanie Riady, adding that education will play a key role toward the achievement of Golden Indonesia Vision in 2045.

Acting head of Karawang Regency education, youth and sport (Dikpora) Cecep Mulyawan congratulated the establishment of SDH Karawang and lauded it as an exemplary collaboration between the public and private sector in providing quality education to the people in the region and beyond.

With the addition of SDH Karawang, YPPH now operates 54 educational institutions spread from Sabang to Merauke, from metropolitan cities, lower-tier cities to the hinterland, in its pursuit to provide transformational education based on true knowledge, faith in God and godly character to all.
